2008 Camp Information
Camp Director:
Wilmington High School Head Football Coach Robin Vida.
Coach Vida is entering his 27th year of coaching football and his currently the head coach of the Hurricane.
Prior to that Coach Vida coached in Texas, Ohio, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. Since Coach Vida's arrival in 2002
the Hurricane have produced a 33-17 record and qualified for the Ohio State playoffs in 2003 and 2005.
Coach Vida was also offensive coordinator of the 1987 State Champions, Weirton Madonna High School.
Camp Purpose:
The purpose and intent of the Hurricane Football Camp is to teach the fundamentals, skills, and strategies of football. The camp is designed to extend the opportunity of involvement to as many young people as possible.
Features:
The camp is devoted to teaching and developing fundamental skills. Athletes will also receive:
- Interaction with Varsity/Junior High Staff
- Special Guest Staff
- Instruction focusing on football safety, fair play, and fundamentals.
- Coaching in specialty areas (punting, kicking, snapping etc...)
- Each athlete will receive shorts and a t-shirt.
Camp Times:
The camp will run from 9am-12 Monday thru Thursday. We will meet at 9:00 each morning together, and then split up according to grade level for drills and skills.
Camp Cost:
The camp cost will be 40.00 for all campers. Cash or checks payable to the
Hurricane Football Camp. |
